The design span from the holographic color of the spandex used on these shoes, which has different hues of gold and brown. To further push the highlights, I used dark brown for the canvas and blue in the suede and liner as complementary colors. The color of the quilting thread is a dark forest green. The actual design of the quilt started on the heel, as a circle, which then expanded further out, losing its curvature. similar to a drop of water hitting the surface of a puddle.
